• MASTER DEGREE

  Academic education and degree (MD, PhD, MSc, or BSc in a relevant subject) (chemistry, toxicology, pharmacology, biology, medicine, veterinary, pharmacy, food, environmental sciences or equivalent)

• BASIC KNOWLEDGE IN TOXICOLOGY

  Documentation on basic competence in the essential areas of toxicology through attendance of appropriate courses, recognised qualifications, or by a certificated demonstration of specific practical experience and structured on the job training.The candidate will be expected to have obtained practical awareness in topics specified by the  ERT Guidelines and defined topics (see annex). In-depth knowledge and experience will be expected in at least two of these topics.

• PRACTICAL EXPERIENCE

  Justifying at least 5 years subsequent relevant toxicological experience (practical curriculum). Practical training and experience needs to be demonstrated for a period of not less than 5 years and must be related to Toxicology. Training will usually be on the job, based on laboratory, clinical, computer-assisted or regulatory work.

• PUBLISHED WORKS

  Detailed documentation of the practical toxicological training and experience, evidenced by published works, confidential reports or assessments.

• CONTINUING PROFESSIONAL EDUCATION

  Demonstrating evidence of continuing professional education.

• PRACTICE OF TOXICOLOGY

  Current certificated professional engagement in the practice of toxicology

New applicants must name two senior toxicologists as referees from different institutions, knowing the applicant personally and able to confirm his/her experience and current employment. One referee, but not both, may be from the applicant’s current place of employment.
